I have once again changed my mind about the text on the tomato root piece.’ “All that is gold does not glitter Not all those who wander are lost The old that is strong does not wither Deep roots are not reached by frost ” J.R.R. Tolkien This is finished and I have started on the last body of text with; I came from Scotland, Olav came from Norway……… and am in the process of getting permission from others hoping in the end to be able to include some who came in 2016. We all have to be aware of this when using names or texts that there are laws protecting individual privacy and copyright. Texts over 70 years are in the free domain and can be used without permission, however when I used the poem ” Do not go gentle into that good night” in a piece involving old worn out jeans I got permission from Dylan Thomas´ heirs before I used it and will have to get this renewed if it should ever be sold.
Thank goodness for the blessings of internet with all the possibilities it gives so that I could listen to this fantastic poem for his dying father while machine sewing/writing the text onto what was left in my cupboard after a visit from my granddaughter. She needed shorts and I had what she considered throw away jeans. Listen to Thomas reciting the poem himself and the music.
